It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to ‘blog’. Our buying trips in France are long, tiring, but fun. Unfortunately even with an iphone, taking pictures is a luxury we just don’t have time for.
We’ve now finished up our buying and spending our last few days here, relaxing. It’s been a difficult challenge this time what with the 38C. temperatures, new buyers on the scene, and the fiscal crises in France presenting all sorts of problems.
Anyway, I know many of you travel to France and so a couple of little insider tid bits you may appreciate.
A very good friend of mine has an apartment he inherited to rent for visitors to Paris. It’s location is fabulous being across the Seine from Notre Dame Cathedral. The apartment couldn’t be better located if it tried. It’s central to everything, and a large space too. Over 110M (1100 sq. ft.) Gigantic for Paris!
The apartment has a completely remodeled kitchen and bathroom, a separate WC and two full sized bedrooms and one small bedroom with a single bed. It’s got TV international phone, internet etc. The rate is excellent for what it is. 2300E/ week. Believe me its a good price for a two bedroom and a den.
They will be posting it online at VRBO once the photos have been taken and posted.
And if you happen to be at the famous Marche aux Puces and need to take a break for lunch the new hot spot ( even at night when the Marche closes ) is Ma Cocotte. It’s hip, new and full of chic and fashionable Parisians in the know.
We had lunch but frankly were not that impressed other than the fact the crowd was chic and pretty. But lets get serious, we’re there to eat and not people watch even though it’s a big Parsian past time. Below is a somewhat disappointed Larry after receiving his rather meager portioned entree.
Also ‘Monsieur Blue’ at the Palais de Tokyo is the ‘it’ place to be. At night, it’s all lit up in blue and is seriously glamorous. Not even the super diligent ‘your’s truly’ has been able to get through to reserve a table. All I keep getting is a recorded message repeating that they’re open and the messagerie does not take messages. So maybe I have to send a courier? I will not give up I assure you.
Anyway, we’re anxious to get home and experience some of that great weather Vancouver’s been having all month.
See you all soon!
